System Basics
The term Precut homes refers to offsite-built home packages containing building materials which are cut to their final sizes and shapes, and then transported to their building sites for assembly into balloon-framed dwellings according to their respective manufacturers’ structural designs, plans and instructions. Similar to log, steel-frame, timber-frame, cedar, round and geodesic home packages, most precut home packages contain structural walls, floors and roof members, and require more onsite labor. Precut homes have to meet local building code.
