Steel-frame homes are pre-engineered, pre-designed, partially pre-assembled homes whose components were made in factory-controlled environments then delivered to building sites.

From a design point of view, these homes are equivalent to conventional stick-frame or post-and-beam construction where structural lumber has been replaced by steel studs, steel posts and steel beams.
