According to a survey, two main reasons made manufactured homes to grow more rapidly than other types of home construction: the first one is that people carry in their minds a picture of a family living in a house nestled in well-landscaped yards; and the second factor being the energetic promotion of the manufactured housing industry.

As a result, close to 6 million American households (6% of all households) now live in manufactured homes on a year-round basis.
