Different manufacturers use different systems of milled-logs joining:
- Scandinavian Full-Scribe, often called Swedish Coped or “chinkless” method, results in logs being scribed and fitted to one another to create an air and water barrier without requiring visible chinking;
- D-Logs are based on single or double tongue and grooves which align logs to one another and create a system which seals out the elements.
- Square Logs are double-tongue-and-groove based.
